Introduction to Yoga, 2 May 2017

Our one off introductory sessions are offered approximately once a month and are specifically designed with the new student in mind. 

If you are interested in trying yoga but don't really know what it's all about, this is the session for you.

As we do not offer specific 'beginners' classes, we ask all students new to yoga, to attend an Introduction to Yoga session initially. The teacher will then signpost you to the regular class which is most appropriate to you.

Join us for an informative session which will cover some of the basics and fundamentals of yoga. Watch, join in and ask questions. Perfect for beginners to yoga or those returning to yoga after a long break.

Super Sleep Sunday - 3 week course 21 May for 3 consecutive Sundays

  • Look at what might be interfering with your ‘good night’s sleep’
  • Learn techniques to build rest in to your day
  • Learn simple ‘super sleep yoga’ sequences to help prepare the body for restful sleep

All are welcome! No experience of yoga is necessary.

Yoga as Self Compassion with Monica Voss - Tuesday 6 June 2017

We all encounter frustrations, experience loss, make mistakes, battle limitations, and fall short of our ideals at times, both in a yoga setting and certainly outside of it.

How can we learn to go with the body, not against it and practice yoga and meditation with enjoyment, love and kindness, awareness and self-compassion?

Join Monica in an exploration of relaxation techniques, breathing exercises, generous movement and posture, all supporting the development of increased happiness in any life circumstance.

 

Monica Voss has practised and taught yoga for over 40 years, having studied with Esther Myers, Vanda Scaravelli and Mary Stewart. She co-owns and directs Esther Myers Yoga Studio in Toronto, Canada, and teaches workshops, retreats and teacher training internationally. Monica has offered annual workshops in the UK since 1989.

Sounding and Language with Monica Voss, Wednesday 7 June 2017

Teachers, those in training and experienced, interested students are welcome to join Monica for this event which will comprise of 2 short (2hrs each) workshops. 

SOUNDING
Making sounds, whether deliberate or spontaneous, is a strategy of the
body/brain/mind uses to release stress and restore energy by breathing. In this workshop, we will practice a variety of structured, non-sectarian and unstructured natural sound-making to rediscover the voice as a tool for relaxation,empowerment and self-expression.

REFRESHING YOUR LANGUAGE

Words are powerful, stimulating and evocative, but can also limit and frustrate at times. As teachers, we affect our students' practice profoundly by our choice of vocabulary. This workshop will help develop your ability to use language creatively to encourage positive reflection and enhance the very personal process of learning about the body
